Why Does An Engine Flood?

An engine usually gets flooded when you step on the fuel gas and start your car repetitively. Your engine will also flood when you grasp the accelerator down totally. When you constantly depress the gasoline pedal to send a few fuels into the system, too much oil will enter into the engine system which causes the engine to be flooded.

To be more precise, it is actually the "carburetor" that gets flooded. When this happens, you are in big trouble so you better to fix this problem immediately.

To prevent your engine from flooding, you need to give your vehicle a slight time before staring it. Before attempting to start your car again, better prop up your hood and wait just a few minutes. Next time, do not depress the pedal often. If these measures did not work out, open your car's carburetor and get WD-40 or ether-based spray to dry out the excess gasoline. Then, start your car again. Take note that the WD-40 and ether sprays are highly flammable. Be extra careful in using these materials. Do not leave your vehicle running while you are using such flammable products. Also avoid smoking for your safety. While you are doing this and you find out that your carburetor needs to be changed, replace it with a good quality one.
